Studio Practice
My studio practice centers on ceramics—functional and sculptural forms made primarily in porcelain and stoneware. I work in a restrained palette of neutral, black, white, and ecru, using gestural lines and natural textures to explore themes of structure, touch, and connection. Each piece is an inquiry into the tension between control and spontaneity, often drawing from natural and architectural influences.
Material Research
A core part of my work involves researching and developing glazes using regionally sourced geological materials. This process combines traditional ceramic knowledge with scientific methods such as elemental analysis and glaze chemistry. I’m currently developing a body of work using glazes derived from local minerals—a practice rooted in historical approaches, reimagined with contemporary tools.
Consulting & Workshops
I offer consulting services and educational workshops for ceramic artists interested in developing glazes from their local bedrock geology. Through one-on-one support or group sessions, I guide potters in understanding glaze chemistry, sourcing wild materials, and crafting regionally grounded surfaces. I also collaborate with art centers to create ceramics programming and assist in securing funding for community projects.
Community & Collaboration
I have a strong interest in community-based ceramics programming and regularly collaborate with arts organizations to design accessible, place-based experiences in clay. From public workshops to educational installations, I bring together art, science, and storytelling to engage people with materials in meaningful and inclusive ways.
