My collaborative work combines deep knowledge of glaze chemistry with a passion for place-based making and community connection. I specialize in working with ceramic artists and potters to develop unique glazes using their local bedrock geology—transforming raw, regional materials into expressive, functional surfaces.
But my work doesn’t stop at the studio door. I also have extensive experience building community-based ceramics programs, partnering with art centers, schools, and nonprofits to design inclusive, educational workshops that engage people with clay, chemistry, and the land beneath their feet. I regularly assist organizations in identifying and securing funding for these initiatives, helping make ceramics more accessible and rooted in local culture.
One-on-one glaze development collaboration using local materials
Hands-on workshops in glaze chemistry, wild materials processing, and testing
Community clay program design and curriculum development
Support with grant writing and funding strategies for ceramics-based programs
Whether you’re a studio potter refining your glazes, or an arts organization looking to start or expand ceramics programming, I bring a collaborative, grounded approach that bridges science, art, and community.
